Pyrethrins are an extract of the pyrethrum daisy Chrysanthemum cinaeriofolium. (Chrysanthemum flowers)
What is Piperonyl Butoxide? It is often listed as an additional ingredient along with pyrethrins. It is also a naturally occurring material, often used in conjunction with permethrin products, is “Piperonyl Butoxide”. When Piperonyl Butoxide is combined with pyrethin as a synergist, it gives it faster knock down. Piperonyl Butoxide is derived from Sassafras trees. (Back to principle products used)
Permethrin is a synthetic form of pyrethrum or Pyrethrin. (See above) It has the same safety rating but last much longer.

Abamectin, controls by acting as a "gabba blocker." It is derived from a natural material that occurs in specific soils. It is often the main active ingredient used in medicines to control tapeworms in horses and heart worms in dogs.
Linalool (Linalool is found in lavender flowers and is one of the constituents of lavender oil) It prevents flea and roach reproduction for up to 5 months It is a “Insect Growth Regulator” (IGR) It disallows the eggs to mature.
Cyfluthrin is a member of the pyrethroid chemical class (a synthetic Pyrethin)
It is considered to be moderately toxic to mammals. The cyfuthrin product we use is called INTRUDER HPX. (See web for more product details and MSDS)

Deltamethrin is in one of the safest classes among pesticides: It is a synthetic Pyrethrin. Delta Dust kills crawling insects up to eight months. Because it is water-proof, this insecticide dust will not absorb moisture (which destroys other dusts) and it will not clump.
Fipronil is the active ingredient in. (Frontline, Over'n Out!, Maxforce FC Baits) When bugs come into contact with this product, they have not only contaminated themselves but any other of their species. Once contaminated, the ant (or other targeted pest) no longer grooms itself or feeds, thus causing death. Fipronil first came to the public's attention with the introduction of Frontline Topspot and Frontline Spray for the control of fleas on dogs and cats. The most popular Fipronil product (at the time of this writing) is Maxforce FC roach bait gel. (Maxforce FC has made elimination of cockroach populations easier and more effective than any other bait in the world.) Next introduced was Termidor, a termiticide that is showing great promise for the control of termite problems in homes and other structures. In early 2002, Over'n Out! fireant granules began taking its share of fire ant control products.
